The Winter Park Playhouse presents the Central Florida Premiere of The Andrews Brothers, The New '40s Musical, March 2 – 24, 2012 , Performances are Fridays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm, select Sundays (3/11 and 3/18) at 2:00 pm, and Thursday (3/22) at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $38 Evening / $35 Senior Evening / $28 Matinees / $20 Industry Professionals and Students 25 & under.
The Andrews Brothers, by Roger Bean, includes 27 Andrews Sisters songs and tells the tale of three brothers working for the U.S.O. on an island in the South Pacific in 1945. When The Andrews Sisters, who are scheduled to perform, don’t arrive, the brothers must fill in to entertain the troops! Directed by Michael Edwards and choreographed by Roy Alan, this hilarious musical comedy will feature Playhouse favorites Kevin Kelly, Todd Mummert, Roy Alan and newcomer, Sarah Michele. Musical Director Christopher Leavy on piano, Sam Forrest on drums and Ned Wilkinson, on reeds and brass, will lend their professional musicianship to the production's lively 1940’s score.
"Watching these three wacky guys, performing as The Andrews Sisters, will have audiences roaring with laughter, singing along, and dancing in the aisles!" says Michael Edwards, Associate Director for the Playhouse.
