WINTER PARK PLAYHOUSE OFFERS SPARKLING MUSICAL
Apopka Daily News

The Winter Park Playhouse is featuring the musical Godspell and the production is well worth seeing. With a cast that makes for plenty of musical enjoyment, the production manages to involve the audience with an appealing combination of score and expansion of the stage through production numbers which have performers in the aisles. The Actor's Equity member cast, consisting of Michael Colavolpe, Mari Coscarelli, Joanie Garner, Jonathan Glickman, John Gracey, Cory Lear, Todd Schuck, Mel Shulman, and Lynda Wilkerson holds the audience attention throughout both acts as this tale with a gospel theme unfolds.

Touted by the New York media as "A jubilant and most enjoyable new rock musical - a hit!" (New York Times) "Terrific! A high energy good time!" (Entertainment Weekly) "The power of this music makes your spirits soar!" (New York Daily News) "Godspell captures precisely the joy and energy of the Gospel's Good News that seems to be so desperately needed today in America." (The Reverend Howard T. W. Stowe), this locally produced road show version is a bargain by Broadway price standard. Performances run on Friday through Sunday evenings at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available for all Winter Park Playhouse productions by calling the box office at 407-645-0145.

The Winter Park Playhouse has a solid track record for offering good theater at modest prices and the current Godspell production continues that list. Reviewer Mike Scott found it "A surprising jewel in the crown of local productions" and said the performers "captured the audience from the very first and held their attention throughout the performance to the very last minute with vocal skill and never a missed beat."
