Last night in Winter Park, the curtains rose on a spectacular fundraising evening at The Winter Park Playhouse, Central Florida's only professional musical theatre! The sold-out event featured seventeen outstanding performers, cuisine from several of the area's finest restaurants, a raffle and live auction, raising nearly $25,000.

 

The successful fundraiser was a boost to the theatre that offers professional musical theatre, cabarets and outreach programs year-round. Many of the areas finest talent performed including: Natalie Cordone, Candace Neal, Kevin Kelly, Todd Mummert, Heather Alexander, Roy Alan, Michael Edwards, Todd Allen Long, Kate Zaloumes, Heather Charles, Sarah Lee Dobbs, Kathryn Nash, Jasmine Forsberg, Kate O'Neal, Lu Lu Picart, Cathy Merkel, Chris Leavy and Sam Forrest. The show highlighted musical theatre numbers from past and upcoming productions including a high-energy tap number from the upcoming World Premiere "Anything Cole", opening November 18th.

 

The food and beverages were generously donated by Tolla's Italian Cafe, Hot Olives, Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine, Orchid Thai, The Meat House, Winter Park Fish Company, Shipyard Emporium, and Southern Wine Distributors.

 

"What a fabulous way to raise awareness and support for this gem of a theatre!" stated Debra Hendrickson Vice President of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. "We are so pleased to have The Winter Park Playhouse in our community. Not only do they provide high quality professional shows for our locals, we also have many who travel to our area specifically to attend a musical at the Playhouse. Support for this organization benefits all!"
